During each lesson...

The student is expected to arrive on time.

The student is expected to bring all necessary materials (notebook, folder, lesson books, etc.) to each lesson.

The student is expected to practice regularly as is appropriate based on the age and ability of the student.  This will be discussed with the teacher.

The student is expected to ask questions and let me know when additional clarification is needed.

Scheduling

Students/parents will attend one lesson per week, unless prior arrangements are made for special occasions/events.

Students/parents will reserve weekly lesson times based on student/parent preference and teacher availability.

Students are expected to arrive to their lesson on time.  If a student arrives late, the lesson will be extended only if the teacher's schedule can accommodate.

Under special circumstances (travel, illness, etc.), an in-person lesson can be made into a virtual lesson upon request.

If necessary, students/parents must make schedule adjustments at least 24 hours prior to the intended time.  Students/parents who repeatedly miss/reschedule lessons with less than 24 hours' notice will risk being dropped from the studio.  Special exceptions may be made for emergencies.

WITHDRAWL- Students/parents wishing to withdrawl from the studio will need to provide written 30-day notice.  Tuition and any late penalties are accrued until written withdrawl is received.

Tuition/Materials

Weekly 30 minute lessons are recommended for most students, though more advanced/older students may benefit from 60 minute lessons

  • $120/month per student for 30 minute lessons
  • $240/month per student for 60 minute lessons

Students/parents attending in person will agree to a yearly materials and supplies fee of $40.  In the event that materials are lost, a replacement fee of $40 will be charged.

Students/parents attending only virtual lessons will agree to obtain all recommended materials by the first lesson, and any additional recommended materials needed throughout their time of study.  Virtual students/parents will be responsible for replacing lost materials.

Tuition is expected the 1st of the month.  If payment is not made by the 10th of the month, a $40 late fee will be charged to the account.

Methods of payment accepted: Stripe (payment through parent portal/digital invoices), Venmo (@garrisonmusic), cash, or check.

There will be a $30 fee for all returned checks.

WITHDRAWL- Students/parents wishing to withdrawl from the studio will need to provide written 30-day notice.  Tuition and any late penalties are accrued until written withdrawl is received.

Virtual Lessons

Students/parents will follow scheduling and payment procedures as outlined above, but schedule as a virtual lesson.

Virtual lessons will be conducted via Zoom.  In the event there are connectivity issues, lessons may be conducted in another format to be determined by both parties (ex. include, but not limited to Google Meets, or FaceTime).

Students are expected to connect to their lesson on time.  If a student connects late, the lesson will be extended only if the teacher's schedule can accommodate.

For minor students: parents will provide a lesson space for students that includes an open door, and provide that they or a trusted adult be on the premises at the time of the lesson.

Students are expected to dress and behave appropriately during a lesson, and I reserve the right to suspend the lesson in the event that the student is not in compliance.

Illness

Teacher/students/parents will not attend in person if there are any symptoms of illness 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson, including to, but not limited to fever, cough, chills, congestion, extreme fatigue, vomiting, or diarrhea.

Teacher/students will arrive to lessons with freshly washed hands.  Hand sanitizer will be provided and should be used before the beginning of the lesson.

By attending in-person lessons, students/parents voluntarily assume the risk that they may be exposed to COVID-19 or other contagions.  Students/parents voluntarily agree to assume all risks and accept sole responsibility for illness and any expenses and consequences that may be associated.

Students/parents will release Heather Garrison from all liabilities, actions, damages, costs, or any expenses of any kind.
