Heather Garrison is a professional musician and teacher.  She became interested in music in middle school, and it developed into a passion.  By high school, she had become a multi-woodwind player.  She attended Bethel College, where she got her undergraduate degree in bassoon performance with an education licensure (vocal and instrumental) for grades preK-12.  

Heather's experience in instruction began early, guiding middle school students while in high school.  She continued to teach privately through her post-secondary education with individual instruction and specialized group camps.  She taught in a classroom setting at a private Catholic school in Wichita, Kansas for several  years.  She would have up to 750 students at a time, with students ages kindergarten through eighth grade.  There, she was the instructor for general music, instrumental music, vocal music, music theatre, and conductor of the church choir.

In high school and college, she performed in her school's orchestra, band, and jazz band.  In college, Heather began performing in local ensembles, and even traveled to the Czech Republic and neighboring countries to study her favorite type of music: chamber ensemble.  While living in the Wichita area, she served as a board member with the Delano Chamber Players, while performing in both their orchestra and wind ensembles.   Additionally, she has played with the Newton Mid-Kansas Symphony Orchestra regularly since graduating from Bethel.  She always welcomes the opportunity to play in new groups and has performed with various ensembles throughout central and south central Kansas.
